The Lord directed John Oleyar to be the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in September of 2023 after serving as an assistant pastor in Ashland, Ohio for more than a decade. John is thankful to serve the Lord with his two children, Clayton and Cristle. John enjoys helping others grow in grace, spending time with family, and exploring Lake County.

John was born and raised just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree, as well as his master’s degree in ministry from Crown College of the Bible.

John is a relatable Bible teacher/preacher. He often ties personal stories to his expository style preaching.
